Buy *any* other book on feminisms, cultures, or identities, and it will be better! Women's Movements in the Global Era is, for instance, much better. I had to buy both books for a class and I avoid this one like the plague. What a wa||A thoughtful analysis and candid appraisal of the obstacles to transnational feminist understanding, Narayan's discussion of the problems is a step in the right direction.|–Hypatia
